The Jumpin’ Hot Club’s Abyssinians and Dillinger show (at the Sage, 11 September) has been cancelled. Hurricane damage in Jamaica has meant that the touring party has been unable to secure visas.

We’ll be running the early vibes at the Jumpin’ Hot Club’s Abyssinians and Dillinger show on 11 September - reuniting the full line-up of the Boss Sounds show at the Cluny back in 2005.
It’s the launch show for this year’s Boss Sounds festival - we’ll have details on the Reggae in Tyneside page as they’re announced.
This gig’s at the Sage, Gateshead - it’ll be a rare treat to catch the Abyssinians’ harmonies there. Was the rattly old air conditioning still in the Cluny in ‘05?

We’re going back to our roots this weekend to celebrate ten years of Dub inna Pub. Way back in 1998, Stalawatt stalwarts Lil’ Joe and Mr Patch founded what’s since become Newcastle’s longest running reggae night, joined shortly after by Papa S. There’s been a succession of residents since our time, and we’ll be joining current hosts Calculus and Dubcat, with MC Birdman on the mic.
It’s Calculus’ birthday too, so strictly party vibes!
Dub inna Pub’s 10th birthday @ the Tanners (New Bridge Street, Newcastle). Free entry, of course!

We’ll be making an appearance in the reggae tent at Thimbleberry on Saturday afternoon. Lionsden are running the tent this time round, while usual host Reggae Pete is in SA. Nuff other guests over the weekend, too.
It’s a Stalawatt family outing, so don’t be surprised if Junior J stages a take-over
